Sulfur (サルファー Sarufā?) is a teacher in the magic school of Jewel Land. He first appeared in the Jewelpet franchise in 2008, then in the first two series.

Personality[]

In Jewelpet Twinkle☆, he is the scaredy cat of all the magicians of Jewel Land and has a streak of bad luck. In episode 10, it is revealed that he has an alternate personality who is much more older-looking, suave and brave, compared to his regular side.

Appearance[]

Sulfur has blonde hair, green eyes and wears a white and gold outfit made up of a long robe and a hat. Under the robe seems to be a black and gold sweater. He wears brown boots for field work.

In the first series, Sulfur appears to be around the same age as Tatewaki and has the same facial structure as him. His hair is slightly disheveled.

In Jewelpet Twinkle☆, Sulfur is much younger, possibly the same age as Akari. His face is rounder and his hair remains disheveled while being drawn with more lines. He has an alter-ego who looks like an older version of him.

Trivia[]

  • His name is based on sulfur, a chemical element.
    • In the European Spanish dub of the anime, Sulfur was named "Azufre", which is the spanish translation for Sulfur.
  • Sulfur's voice actor, Atsushi Kousaka, is known for voicing Estonia, Greece and Prussia from Hetalia Axis Powers.
    • On the contrary of it's original Japanese language, the European Spanish dub, Sulfur is voiced by Nacho De Porrata, the same actor who voiced Kentaro Sakata from Love Hina, Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin (A.k.a. Samurai X) and even Gian from TV Asahi's 1979 anime adaptation of Doraemon and it's serial movies Nobita and the legend of the Sun King, Nobita in Dorabian nights, Nobita's Galactic Express, Nobita's south sea adventure and Nobita's Tin-Plate Labyrinth.
  • The Sulfur of Jewelpet, the Sulfur of Jewelpet franchise when he first appeared in 2008 and the Sulfur of Jewelpet Twinkle☆ are not the same individual because Jewelpet and Jewelpet Twinkle☆ are different continuities from each other and the anime is a non-canon product to the Jewelpet franchise, like how Nachi is non canon in that way as well, so the 3 Sulfur’s are separate individuals.
