Etymology

• The name Tokiko is written in kanji/hiragana (とき子), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (鋭子, 永希子, 乙希子, 外紀子, 暁鼓, 時規子, 国子, 示子 or 宗子), it could possibly mean:
  • 鋭子 - "pointed, sharp/sharpness, edge, weapon, violent" (鋭) (toki) and "child" (子) (ko).
  • 永希子 - "eternal" (永) (to), "hope" (希) (ki) and "child" (子) (ko).
